Smiths Equipment Hire - Manchester Openshaw Depot

Hired a mini-digger to dig a pond without which would have taken weeks. The team responded to my web enquiry within minutes with a phone call to collect details and asked me to pop in with the required ID. They were very friendly at the depot. The diggers are often booked weeks in advance and I ideally wanted it in the next day or two when I knew weather was good. They found one at the other Manchester depot and arranged for it to be delivered once checked over. It would be with me next day and if the check ate into the morning, they would extend the hire an extra day without charge. On the day, the digger arrived mid-morning and the driver was friendly and unloaded it onto our drive. He demonstrated how to extend the tracks before leaving. It was easy to use and fitted fairly easily down the narrow path alongside the house. Supplied with 3 different buckets, we swapped for the digging one and, after taking a little while to get used to the controls, were underway. It made short work of it and we were finished by evening. Pick up was mid afternoon so we could have used it for over 24 hours if needed. Not long after pick up we had a call saying they'd booked it in and running us through the final invoice which refunded all the unused diesel - actually most of a tank left - along with the deposit. He put the refund through whilst on the phone and emailed the final invoice. Reasonable price, great service and saved days if not weeks of back-breaking digging. Definitely recommended.

Spoke with Simon and another gentleman on the phone initially, both provided excellent and knowledgeable support. I called down to the branch and Kim dealt with my hire arrangement promptly and with the utmost professionalism. She was extremely helpful going above and beyond to facilitate my requirements. I have already signed up to a trade account and arranged my next plant hire. Highly recommend.
